Discovery Question: How Can I identify elements of effective web and presentation design?

A. Designing effective Powerpoint presentations

B. Good and Bad Design Practices:

C. C.R.A.P. Design Principles/p>

D. Designing and maintaining a webpage, Wiki, or Blog

  • Discussion of the assignment
  • Remember that "Form Follows Function"

E. Use the C.R.A.P. Design Principles to create your Powerpoint presentation that shares an application or a site that can be used in the classroom.

HOMEWORK: It is expected that you will spend at least 1-2 hours ONLINE between face-to-face classes. If you pace yourself, this amounts to only 10 to 15 minutes per day! You will need to set aside 5-7 hours of time during the weeks we are not meeting face-to-face to complete your workload - this is about 45 minutes per day. There are also normal course homework expectations.

  • Exercise 1 CRAP Design Activity

  • Exercise 2 Use the C.R.A.P. Design Principles to create your Powerpoint presentation that shares an application or a site that can be used in the classroom. To be completed and presented at our next meeting

  • Exercise 3 Post a reflection on your Weebly website on your thoughts on using design principles discussed in tonight's lesson. Which design principles have you already been using and which were you not aware of? Which principle do you feel is the most important? Select a good or bad website that you reviewed using the links that were provided above and briefly discuss what design elements made it good or bad. Provide a link to the website that you reviewed. Respond to at least one other person.
